Selected as a Finalist in the 12th KAAF Art Prize (2025), this artwork represents an important milestone in Ping Lian Yeak’s continuing Architectural Impressions series.

After moving to Sydney from Malaysia in 2006 at the age of twelve, Ping Lian became captivated by the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Their remarkable forms inspired an enduring fascination with architecture that continues to shape his artistic practice.

Rather than creating a literal depiction, Ping Lian transforms the Opera House into an imaginative composition of intricate linework, rhythmic detail, and vibrant colour. The work expresses not only the building’s iconic beauty but also the peace, joy, and sense of belonging he found in his new home.

Ping Lian Yeak is an internationally recognised autistic savant artist whose work has been exhibited internationally and featured in 16 international books. This original artwork is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
